Body & Soul - IV

Your physical body is nothing but a mass of flesh, blood, bones. There is nothing great in it. And if you don't believe me then try an experiment. Just don't have bath for five days. You shall find unbearable stench has started to emanate from your body. The skin of a cow can lie for days and it shall not smell bad. But within hours of death your body shall start to rot and the neighbors shall say - Take him away and cremate his body or soon the stench shall become intolerable.

And you feel so proud of your body. You wash it with scented soaps, smear it with creams and lotions and use perfumes on it. What shall you gain from all this ?

Caring for the physical body won't get you anywhere. One needs to enter inner body.

It is not easy to enter the inner bodies. Not everyone can do it. when you don't know about it how shall you do it? It is in fact a process of transformation and when it occurs Lord Shiva shall appear, without doubt he shall. You shall then be able to see his divine form, his face, his features and all his forms. Then you shall realise how divine He is, how unique He is among all deities and why He is called not Dev but Mahadev, the Lord of all deities.

This is a process of clearing one stage of life and entering one stage of life and entering into another and there are seven such stages, for there are seven bodies. First is Deh, then Praann, then Aatma, and like this there are seven bodies and these seven bodies and these seven bodies are the seven Chakras of the Kundalini.

Pushpadant did not have this knowledge and hence it took him seventy five years to realise through his Sadhanas that the real aim of life is to enter the inner body.

And when one does so the divine unfolds before one's inner vision. And then one too, like Shankaracharya, is able to cry out in ecstasy Shivoham Shankaroham!

It would be great achievement if I could transform you from ordinary human into a superhuman and take you you to the stage of Shivoham. This is my duty and I shall surely fulfil it.

But if you do not come close to me, if you keep away from me you shall not be able to enter your inner bodies. This change is possible only through the help of two keys given to Pushpadant by Lord Shiva - devotion and service. So don't become stagnant like a pond, be like a fast moving river. Even if there are obstacles in your path don't worry about them.. Just keep flowing on.

If you think before you devote yourself it won't be true devotion. You have to lose yourself and forget about everything else.

The emperor Akbar use to sit for Namaz five times daily. Once when he was travelling it was tie for his prayers and spread a sheet by the wayside and sat down to pray. A young girl had promised her lover that she would come to meet him. And the lover had said that if she did not come by a particular hour he would leave. She was late and she ran to the rendezvous point stepping on the sheet on which Akbat sat in meditation. Akbar was infurated and when she returned a few minutes later hs accosted her and said in an angry voice - Can't you see? How dare you step on this sheet?

The girl said - I was in hurry. I had to meet someone and I did not notice the sheet..but what were you doing?
I was praying - said Akbar.
Then how did you know that I had stepped on the sheet. It means you were not meditating. Were you with God or were you looking at me ?

Devotion means forgetting about everything else. Becoming completely lost is true devotion.

There is a large crowd waiting to meet me and you say to yourself - Not today, I shall meet Gurudev tomorrow.

You cannot reach me like this. There has to be determination. Just catching hold of my feet won't get you anywhere. I am teaching you the process of losing yourself in my form. No one teaches a river how to merge into the ocean. It just rushes and loses itself in the latter's vastness. This too is an important achievement of life. Just a laughing and crying are inseparable parts of life similarly life is incomplete without this fusion. You have to lose yourself completely, only then shall you gain something worthwhile.

It is when a seed loses itself in the soil that it germinates and grows into a plant and then a tall tree. The seed is so small and it has the courage to loose itself in the soil and hence it rises up to become a huge tree in some years.

I too was a mere seed but I allowed myself to be buried in the earth. I did not worry about my parents, or wife or relatives. With determination I left everything to the Guru and decided that either I shall become a huge shady tree or I shall be lost forever, but I won't remain a mere seed. And it is the result of that determination and devotion that I am before you giving solace and peace to thousands of troubled souls.

You too can become a shady tree if you have devotion, faith and the courage to lose yourself. If you are afraid to lose your identity then you shall ever be a seed and never grow into a tree. And ultimately the seed too shall rot die without achieved anything.

The keys to this achievement are Sevatam, Samarpatvam, Sadhakatvam and Shishyatvam. that I can take you there.. I do not hesitate in declaring, for one who is total fears nothing. And I say in clear limited words, I don't need long discourses to convince you. Only empty vessels make noise and keep harping on their supposed achievements.

Sampoornnam Kumbho Na Karoti Shabdam

A full vessel shall not make a noise. It shall give you a hint and then it shall be upto you to take out the water of true knowledge from it. I have the capability to link you to the inner bodies. And the moment you are there you shall see divine light.

Lord Krishna said to Arju - Look, the entire universe is in my form. Don't look at your relatives, look at my divine form and you shall have seen everything.

This is what I am telling you that the entire universe is there inside your physical body. All places of pilgrimage, all deities are within. If you look inside you shall have the vision of Shiva. But if you look outside you shall see nothing but stone idols. And this shall happen only when you enter the inner bodies.

I wish you to go through this experience that the Guru gave to Pushpadant. The Guru had told Pushpadant that the only way to fuse into the divine is by entering the soul. And five thousands years later here is another Guru telling his disciples that he can take you on this inner journey. Only when you undertake this inner trip shall you be able to see Lord Shiva, only then shall your sixth sense be awakened and only then shall you make true spiritual progress.

And it shall also be a great moment of joy for me when you are able to have this experience. May you soon succeed in this. I bless you from the core of my heart !

Body & Soul - III

It can happen. One might start some composition and get stuck in the middle as happened with King Bhoj. One night lying in his bed he started to speak out a new verse.

Dhanam Roopatvam Preyashra Poornnatva Sukh Sevacha.
Deham Raajya Ashvam Cha Patnee Preyashra Poornnatah.
Sadam Hasti Cha Maannikyam-ham Raajaa Bhavataa Vadet.

These three lines mean - I am great king lord of a great city Ujaai, I own a large kingdom, houses, beautful queens, servants, wealth and all luxuries...And here he stopped unable to complete the forth line. He kept thinking and repeating the three lines again and again.

Just then a thief lay under his bed waiting for him to drop to sleep. If a person likes to dance he cannot keep still if some music is playing. If nothing else he would start to tap his feet. The thief was very wise. Circumstances had forced him to take stealing. He heard the king repeat the three lines again and again and at last when he could no longer restrain himself he blurted out

Sammeelane Nayanayo-rnahi Kinvidasti

He said -  You are right, O King! You are rich, you have all comforts, queens, servants, palaces but what shall happen to them when you die? What shall you be left with when you die?

This is what Lord Shiva said to Pushpadant- What shall you be left with when you die? Your wife your wealth nothing shall go with you. You shall be left with nothing for you have nothing worthwhile. You shall have something if you enter your inner body, the Sharir. You shall have something the day you shall be able to cry out hivoham Shankaroham, the day you shall be devote to the Guru. When you lose yourself in the Guru you shall be really rich. Then even death shall not be able to harm you. Then you shall become immortal and live on forever.

Right now death can come, for you are not linked to your inner body. Your physical possessions are useless, for they shall end with your death.

Lord Shiva says - If there is no medium between me and your then you shall gain nothing from offering flowers and water on my idol. There should be a Guru in between, for you shall not be able to see me with your physical eyes. Right now you cannot even recognise me.

How do you know what Lord Shiva looks like? Fine you worship his idol, but he must have some form. We keep worshipping idols and pictures. Pictures have been drawn by artistes who themselves keep chanting Om Namah Shivaay, Om Namah Shivaay and may be one day Lord Shiva manifest. But you shall think he is some Sadhu, some ascetic, for you have never seen him.

The Guru has seen Lord Shiva and he also knows you. This is why it is said - Sah Guru Sah Devataa. A Guru is necessary, for only he can introduce you to the deities. Only he can tell you that this is not an ordinary Yogi, he is Shiva.

This is why Shiva said to Pushpadant - You won't gain anything this way. You might worship me for another five thousands years and you shall have no benefit. Pushpadant understood what the Lord was saying and he went straight to a Guru and fell in his feet. To the Guru he said - I have come to you, Gurudev. Please tell me what to do so that I could fulfill all my wishes in life.

And the Guru explained the method to him, the same method that I am telling you after a gap of twenty five thousand years.

The Guru said - Forget about your physical self. Don't be infatuated with it. If you continue to do so you shall never make progress.

All relations of this world - wife, son, servants, friends are on the physical plane. You have to leave them for an hour, two hours or some time. I don't want you to leave them forever. I just want you to link yourself to the inner body for some time daily. And once you are able to do so you shall be filled with a unique joy. You shall feel as if you are becoming lost in divine ecstasy and you shall no longer be troubled by the problems around you.

Pushpadant's Guru said - Sevatvam Samrpatvam. He did not give a long discourse. He just spoke two words. He did not even give some Diksha. Rather he just gave two keys - service and devotion.

Devotion means giving up everything one has, devoting even one's body in the feet of the Guru. The Guru says to the disciple - Let me worry about your physical well being. I shall take care of you. You just stop worrying. And I shall not let you end up in a funeral ground. Only a physical body's destination is a funeral ground. But you shall no longer be in the Deh, you shall be in the Sharir. But this can happen only if you devote yourself and selflessly server the Guru. A Guru  is not selfish. He does not want to enslave the disciple, but devotion and service is the only way to this goal.

When one is carefree only then can one serve selflessly.

Sevatvam Samarpatvam Sadhakatvam ..

The first stage is of service, second of devotion, third stage is of a Sadhak and the fourth that of a disciple. Only after having been through the first three stages does a person become disciple.

Pushpadant said -  Being a disciple is fine, but I want to become lost in the divine form of Lord Shiva.

His Guru Said - For this first you have to get linked with your Sharir and hence I am giving you a Diksha through which you shall be linked to your inner body.

You might well have read about awakening of the Kundalini. But you do not know where the Kundalini is and to which place it has to be raised. Even your so called Gurus are not aware of this. And they have written books on Kundalini. I have read at least hundred of such books and they say that Kundalini is like a snake that sits coiled up at the base of spine. It rises up from here and having pierced all the Chakras reaches the Sahastrar.

You too can do this. Just pick up a few books and write one of your own. Just write something different, for example the number of coils are not three but two. And once your book is published you shall be acclaimed as a Master of Kundalini. Soon you shall have a following of disciples pleading with you to awaken their Kundalinis.

There are such Gurus and such books. Even individuals who have no knowledge have written on this subject. This is why the world of spiritualism has today become full of fraud and deceit.

Kundalini in fact is not there where you believe it to be! The Kundalini power has been clearly mentioned in the Gayatri Mantra. This Mantra can release this power and this is why it is said that Gayatri Mantra is more explosive than a nuclear bomb. But unfortunately we do not even know this Mantra fully. The ancient texts say that there are twenty four alphabets in the Gayatri Mantra. Just try counting and tell me how there are twenty four. You won't find twenty four and the texts state clearly that there are no less than twenty four. If you count you shall find only twenty three. Where is the twenty fourth? Who shall tell you the complete Mantra? If you do not have an enlightened Guru who shall give you this knowledge?

Someone told you this is the Mantra and you believed him. Basically this Mantra Savita Mantra. The texts do not mention the word Gayatri. They call it Savitaa Mantra and Savitaa means sun which is so bright and full of energy.

It is a Mantra to create an explosive energy in the body that could destroy all negative traits of an individual. The Beej Mantras contained in this Mantra are - Bhu, Bhuvah, Swah, Mahah, Janah, Tapahs and Satyam. These are actually seven inner bodies and this Mantra contains the key to entering the inner bodies. The Mantra ends with Tatsa Viturvarennyam which is actually a method of entering the inner bodies. But this method cannot be understood without the help of a Guru.

So one has to understand the power of Beej Mantras contained in the Mantra. Also one has to realise that the Mantra is not complete. Every Mantra has four parts. Every verse, every couplet has four parts. Similarly all Mantras written have four parts. But Gayatri Mantra does not have four parts.

Tatsaviturvarennyam Bhargo Devasya Dheemahi Dhiyo Yo Nah Prachodayaat.

Where is the fourth part? Who shall reveal it to you?  What is the use of chanting incomplete Mantra.

Actually all Mantras were rendered useless by the ancient Rishis to prevent their misuse. And they did this to either removing some part or adding some irrelevant part. I am telling you all this because I want you to understand some important things. For example such knowledge shall automatically develope on you when you enter the inner bodies. Then all knowledge of the universe shall become available to you. And on linking to the inner bodies all problem shall end.

Body & Soul - II

Wife, son, mother, father, relatives are all symbols of the outer form. When one dies and the other form is cremated no one accompanies one to the other world. They all cry for some time and then they return home leaving the departed soul to seek another body. When one day you have to realise that the real you is not the outer body but the soul, why don't you do it today?

We don't even have the power  to change the outer body at will. Better than us is the snake around the Lord's neck who can slip out of its skin and appear in a new young skin.

We are not aware that there is a difference between the outer and the inner forms. And till we don't realise this the Guru shall have to keep discoursing, shouting and exhorting. He has to speak because this is his job and we have to listen because we cannot avoid it. If this is how you think then my words shall produce no effect.

You have to try with devotion and faith and then you shall realise how joyful it can be. You have to just live on joyfully without worrying what is happening around you. What you think or don't think is not going to matter much. So why worry?

Your son is not earning anything, so how is your worrying going to help. You might plead with him, yet he won't go out and earn. So what is the use of worrying and fretting. You just become a witness to everything, you just enter your inner self and you shall find that all the worrying is for nothing.

Praying to Lord Shiva, Shankaracharya says - Na Taato Na Maataa, i.e. I have no mother or father, while the fact is that he had parents, he had relatives, he had friends, he even had a home.He had everything and yet he said - Na Taato Na Maataa.

It means that he wanted to be linked with the inner body where all outer relations are useless. It might happen in a moment or it might take a whole life, but the moment you enter the Sharir the outer problems shall stop worrying you. Then sorrow, pain, affliction shall not trouble you and you shall not sit with your head cradled in your hands. Then you shall not feel perturbed or face any paucity in life. You can never put an end to paucity or poverty through your efforts.

The first text that Pushpadant wrote was Mahimna Stotra and he wrote another called Shiv Stotra that too has forty verses. Each of these verses is unque and one of these is as follows.

Vidaaro Porvaayam Vati Charati Poornnamad Iv,
Shivatvam Sevyam Ya Yad Nirat Shreya Shruti Iv,
Vishaagram Mevaatvam Bhav Na Vaditaa Preyat Ivah,
Shivo Saakshaad Roopam Shiv Bhavati Saayujya Iti Cha.

It is an extraordinary verse fro a text writter by Pushpadant that was never published and never remembered by later Rishis. After Pushpadant this text completely disappeared. There is no one on the earth today who remembers even one verse from this precious work. If these rare verses are not put down on paper then they shall be lost for ever. If their essence is not imbibed in life then the rare knowledge of our Rishis shall disappear. It is very unfortunate that not one priest in India remembers a word of this amazing text.

The above verse contains the essence of life. Pushpadant Says - I have been worshipping Lord Shiva for the past seventy five years, yet I always remain in tension and worries. Is this then my fate, that is to die harassed by tensions? O Lord Shiva! I have devoted myself fully in your feet. Why is my life still full of worries? When shall I be able to attain to divine joy which the ancient texts describe as Brahmaanandam Sukham?

And as soon as Pushpadant completed this verse Lord Shiva answered - Guruvei Gatih. You don't have a Guru. Who shall then tell you why you face so many paucities even after having worshipped me for seventy five years? For the first time in your life you have realised that you have been suffering a lot and so I have appeared to answer your question. If you wish for fearlessness and joy you shall have to go the Guru. Only a Guru can tell you why you are facing problems and pain.

These verses from Shiva Stotra are not present in any text. They have simply disappeared and with them seems to have disappeared a part of our precious knowledge. Rather there appeared a very dark phase of ignorance which was dispelled by Lord Buddha. Now again after another two thousand five hundred years of darkness some Guru shall appear to lead the disciples.

I too am trying to do the same thing. But it is only after the Guru finds some empty book in form of disciple that he is able to write on it true knowledge in order to remove the darkness of ignorance. If anyone among you is ready to be a book the Guru can do much. but you shall have to be blank. Only then shall the Guru write on the pages. And I always keep looking for blank pages in form of dedicated disciples. And I shall always feel sorry that I could not find real disciples.

A real Guru never writes on paper, for paper will be destroyed one day. True knowledge is to be written on someone's heart. The Guru is ready to write but no one is ready to devote himself fully for the purpose.

Lord Shiva said to Pushpadant - a Guru, for Guruvei...Find you and only he can tell stand why you could not lose yourself in my form even after having worshiped me for seventy five years, why you could not become free from worries and why you could not attain to totality.

In the third verse Pushpadant says - I have spent all the childhood in your holy feet. I know only you and no one else.

Lord Shiva says - You wish to clap with one hand. But this is not possible. For sound to travel there should be a medium of air in between. If I call out to you there needs to be a medium which could transmit the sound. And the medium is air. Similarly there must be a medium between you and me. Without it your prayers do not reach me and neither do my thoughts reach you. This is why you are still identifying with the physical body.

And after writing the first three verses Pushpadant wrote the fourth after one and half years. He simply could not compose the fourth verse for a long time. And the fourth verse contains the essence of the whole text.

Body & Soul - I

Asit Giri Sam Syaat Kajjalam Sindhu Paatre, Surtaruvar Shaakaa Lekhini Putramoorvi.
Likhati Yadi Griheetvaa Shaardaa Sarvakaalam, Tadapi Tav Gunnaanaameesh Paara Na Yaati

Where the divine name of Lord Shiva is chanted there is laughter, joy, exuberance, totality vibrating in the air. And one who keeps laughing and smiling cannot die, for when one laughs the life energy becomes all the more vibrant, the blood gushes with a new vigour and the body trembles with joy.

If there is a living Sadguru there are bound to be real, inquisitive disciples. We are not sitting in a funeral ground. We are here to enjoy life. And it can be enjoyed through dance and music, laughter and smiles, devotion and dedication. These are the means to totality in life. One need not turn beads to attain totality in life.

The outer physical form is not your Sharir or your real body, for the Shatras have called it Deh or the physical shell. There is a difference between Deh and Sharir. Deh means that which shall die one day, that shall be destroyed. One who identifies only with the outer for has to end up in body is immortal. Sharir means an inner energy, a vibrance. Inside the outer form is another body and it is this body that brings joy, laughter and all good feelings in life. The outer body cannot generate such tender feelings. The physical body can only procreate, it can only create another Deh in the form of a child. This is the only use of the Deh(Body). Other  than this it has no creative purpose. It cannot produce laughter or a smile. The physical body ever keeps moving on the path that leads to death. But we have not taken birth to end up thus.

If you think that life ends when the body is burnt or when it dies, then know it that this not the end. Ram has not died, he lives on. And so do Krishna, Buddha, Shankaracharya and Lord Shiva. We know all about them and they live on in our hearts and even the future generations shall remember them.

We should do something so that the future generations might realise that we did something great, that we achieved something, that we were disciples of some great Guru. And all such achievements are had through the medium of a Sharir, not the Deh.

But to link with the Sahrir one must be vibrant. This is why I try to make you dance. I wish to put an end to the stagnancy in your lives. I wish to make you realise that the Deh is not everything. When you realise this my voice shall reach your conscience. Till y voice does not reach your soul, all my efforts shall go waste no matter how many times I perform Shaktipaat on you. I will give you a force and it shall just bounce back from your physical form without having any effect and thus energy transferred shall go waste. This energy is not ordinary. It is part of divine the divine, it is the force of years of Sadhana. It is a tremendous power which can make your lives vibrant. I want this energy to enter into the inner body. And inside there are other planes, other bodies, - Bhu, Bhuvah, Swah, Mahaah. But one needs great to contact them.

Today man is the most poor creature spirituality. And this is because whenever you meet a Guru your demands are frivolous. You do nothing but harass the Guru. You know only outer physique and hence your prayers are limited to - Guruji, my wife is ill or I want to promotion or I want this thing or that thing. These are demands of the outer form. And till we continue to identify with outer form problems of life shall continue to be.

But once you stop identifying with the outer form and link yourself to the inner body the problems shall fail to trouble you. There sure shall be tensions and problems but they shall no perturb you. They shall continue their onslaught no matter what you do. You may pray, you may weep, you may face them with a challenge, they shall always be there. So there is no point in worrying about them.

In the text Mahima Stotra Pushpadant say to Lord Shiva - "I feel very surprised, O Lord. You live in a funeral ground, all you posses is an empty bowl. In one hand you have trident and all you wear on your body is ash. what more a snake coils around your neck and yet you look so happy, so contented. Even we are not so happy. We too want to be happy like you."

Problems in life are never going to end, but when you become oblivious of the outer physique and start to identify with the inner body you shall ever remain immersed in joy. I am not saying that you shall stop having problems in your life. They shall surely be there but they shall not worry you. In fact man very easily becomes involved in his problems and when this happens he loses contact with the inner body and consequently with spirituality. Sadhanas or spiritual progress is not possible through the physical body. For this one needs to awaken the soul.

Lord Shiva's disciple Pushpdant wrote two texts one of which is Mahimna Stotra. If you read it you shall find that it is a unique text in which there are 40 verses. One of these is Asit Giri Sam Syaat...

It means that even if the whole earth is used instead of paper, the oceans as ink, the wood from all jungles as pens and even if the Almighty takes upon himself the task of writing, even then all the virtues of Lord Shiva cannot be listed.

And Shiva too has a family, yet he is so happy and overflowing with joy. There is no difference between Lord Shiva and you. You think there is a difference but not your soul. Shankaracharya never thought there was any difference and hence he could say -Shivoham (I am Shiva). He was not lying, for he was speaking from the depths of the soul.

If you speak from your physical form, you shall only discriminate. You shall think that you are different from the Lord who sits in the temple. And even in the temple there is a priest standing between you and the Lord. How shall you feel close to Him? Its only when you lose yourself in the form of the Lord that He shall appear before you in his real divine form.

Then you shall feel like crying - Shivoham Shankaroham. I am shiva, I am Shankar. Then if you meditate deeply the Lord shall have to come. Then you need not even go to a temple. But in order to reach this high spiritual stage one has to first learn how to enter into the inner body.

If you read this article and forget it the next day it shall of no use. If I explain to you some Sadhana and you fail to use then my effort shall go waste. Till you don't understand what I am trying to say, all this shall be of no use.

I write something and you read it without understanding then there won't be any result. Each of my words has a hidden meaning and that has to be imbibed. If I say that Lord Shiva is withing the He sure is. He is not there in some stone idol. Those who have not stopped identifying with the outer body shall never go to a temple. But you shall go there, offer water on the Lord, offer milk and flowers. You need these rituals because you are still identifying with the outer form. But the moment the link with the inner is established the outer rituals shall all become useless.
